This was a commissioned piece. The premise of the project was to make an album cover on the concept of Decolonial love. Decolonial love was a term coined by Juno Diaz, a writer who discusses the idea of taking apart the chains that colonization has used to hold back the advancement of ethnic minorities. Breaking the glass ceiling and searching for freedom from oppression and discrimination. The glass heart represents the limitations that people of color face, and how the process of colonial indoctrination has made them loose touch with their culture. The wings represent freedom, breaking through the cold hard prison that colonization has created in the hearts of the colonized.
